Floral Techniques
For most fresh arrangements, the biggest techniques
would involve using either a floral foam or a vase that
allows the stems to support the weight of the arrangement.
Many times, fresh flowers are "handtied" in
the designer's hands to artfully place each bloom, and
then set down into a vase. Floral foam allows the stems
to be inserted and given extra height and stability.
This allows the flowers to be placed easier into the
container and helps shape the overall design of the
arrangement.
Silk (or permanent) flowers tend to be arranged in a
special styrofoam base that holds the heavy stems in
place and provides a superb stability. There are many
botanically correct silk flowers available today, as
well as more unusual exotic flowers that are very hard
to distinguish from fresh. This allows many of our clients
to have the feel of fresh flowers, but to enjoy them
for many years.

Fresh
flower care
By knowing the proper care of your fresh flowers, you
can continue to enjoy them longer, and extend the vase
life much more than you would expect. Keep your flowers
cool and out of direct sun. Add water everyday, and
if they are in a vase, be sure to change the water when
it appears cloudy or discolored. Fresh, clean water
is a must for long vase life! Recut the stems if they
are in a vase to encourage water intake. |

Interior Accents
Finding the perfect arrangement to compliment your home
interior can be a very rewarding completion to your
home's interior. We can accent any style of home, tying
together the feel, color and tone of any room. Whether
a permanent silk or a long lasting fresh arrangement
for a special occasion, a floral arrangement will bring
life and a special touch to any room!
Colors
and Balance
Colors and a harmonious balance of botanicals will bring
together any style of room. Try contrasting colors,
or blending the same tones of colors for a unique addition
to your personal space.

Permanent flower
care
Avoid setting your silk flowers in direct sun, as this
will eventually cause discoloration. If the flowers
begin to get dusty, just wipe down with a slightly damp
paper towel. There are several excellent silk flower
cleaners that work well, but be sure to test a small
section of the bloom since occasionally they will discolor.
Try giving your silks a facelift! Many of our clients
will bring back a silk arrangement to
be "reworked" by using the same flowers, but
just made into another style. This is a great way to
get added life out of the arrangement and enjoy throughout
the seasons.
